Environmental Design: Masquerade

ATTENTION ALL PEOPLE, AGES 0-100…
… and anyone else who wants to have a good time…

If you’re in town, and happen to be close to the UCSC campus, you might be interested in joining the Theater Design students (in particular, The Drug of Choice) there for an awesome night on Dia de los Muertos – midnight directly following Halloween.
From midnight to sunrise, the festivities will be happening, from live bands to a bonfire on the beach. Bands have been asked to perform at the Quarry, including the local bands Skylit Drive and 3 Up Front. There will be a mask-making workshop directly before, for anyone who might’ve missed out on the costumes, with supplies donated by Palace & Lenz. After the music performances, the entire masquerade will shift from the Quarry to the beach, in a refreshing trek through Santa Cruz. To stimulate the mood, members of the march will be playing kettle drums and other various instruments, and bubbles will be blown – an experience that you won’t want to miss out on, even if only to watch.
On the beach, there will be an herbal bonfire, along with free food donated by the local restaurants. On the whole, this event is the perfect chance if you want to get out, have some fun, and spend some quality time with other members of the Santa Cruz community. With so many ways to celebrate life – taste, touch, sound, sight, and smell – how could one resist but to experience and enjoy this event? Every participant is free and encouraged to take their own meaning out of this unique experience: after all, we’re all different.

Hope to see you there!

Where are the photos of this fabulous event? Or did you get rained out?
